What does the facial mesotherapy procedure consist of?

Facial mesotherapy is a form of aesthetic treatment with a rejuvenating effect, which is based on the infusion of nutrients to the skin, by injection, using the microneedling technique. The micro-oils used for this procedure form very small channels in the dermis, making this type of treatment minimally invasive.

Three types of mesotherapy are available at Cronos Med clinics:

Tensor Lift

Tensor Lift is a mesotherapy preparation that is applied by microneedling or using a mesogun. This product contains unstabilised hyaluronic acid in combination with other ingredients commonly used in mesotherapy, such as vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and polyphenols. For an amplified lifting and revitalizing effect, Tensor Lift injectable preparation also contains DMAE, a substance derived from vitamin B that provides a powerful tightening effect on the skin.

Silisorg HA

Mesotherapy Biorevitalization with Silisorg HA is a safe and natural procedure. All the substances used for microinjection exist naturally in our skin. The therapy simply replaces these vitamins and nutrients, restoring them to an optimal level. The results are amazing and can be seen immediately: the skin becomes more hydrated, nourished, glowing, with better elasticity and a noticeably improved texture.

Is this mesotherapy safe? Risks

The minimally invasive nature of the treatment gives it a wide addressability, with the rare exceptions mentioned above. Risks are minimal and usually limited to the occurrence of short-term side effects. These include the following:

  • local erythema (rosacea);
  • small bruises at the injection site;
  • pruritus (itching);
  • mild inflammation;
  • local sensitivity.

Apart from these temporary side effects, facial mesotherapy does not present any other dangers, as it is a procedure where substances naturally present in the tissues are injected. Also, the micro-oils used during facial mesotherapy sessions do not harm the tissue, as they do not penetrate the deep layers of the skin.

How do you feel during injectable mesotherapy?

Before the actual treatment, your dermatologist will apply a local anaesthetic to the area to be treated. This step ensures improved comfort during the facial mesotherapy procedure.

The micro-needles of the device used in mesotherapy can penetrate to a depth of 4 millimetres, but this varies depending on the area treated and the specific needs of each patient. You may feel a slight stinging sensation, which will subside shortly after the micro-injections.

Results

The favourable effects of facial mesotherapy are widely recognised among medical aestheticians as having a positive benefit-risk ratio. Following the sessions carried out in our clinics, the results will be increasingly visible, as this type of treatment:

  • stimulates collagen and elastin production;
  • improves microcirculation;
  • improves skin firmness
  • hydrates the tenul;
  • gives radiance to the complexion.

The process of nourishing the skin with facial mesotherapy is fast and long-lasting, as the nutrients penetrate into the layers of skin tissue, unlike topically applied cosmetics.

What are the indications after injectable mesotherapy to optimize the results?

Being a minimally invasive procedure, no special measures or special care routines are required after the completion of treatment sessions. However, it is recommended that during the first 24 hours after the procedure, it is avoided:

  • prolonged exposure to solar radiation;
  • tanning sessions at the solarium;
  • hot baths;
  • sauna sessions;
  • make-up of the complexion;
  • intense physical effort.

Adequate fluid intake plays an important role in optimizing the beneficial effects of facial mesotherapy, so it is recommended to consume at least 2 liters of water daily.

How long does a mesotherapy session last and how many do I need?

The duration of a session can be from 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the area to be treated. The recommended interval between sessions is 2 weeks, and the minimum number of sessions for optimal results is 4-5 consecutive sessions.
