WHAT IS MASTOPEXY WITH IMPLANT?

Known as both mastopexy and breast lift, the procedure is for patients with sagging and uneven breasts, low volume, sagging nipples and enlarged areolae, giving them a youthful appearance. If the breast has no volume or too much volume, breast augmentation is recommended.

Dr. Constantin Stan has performed over 3500 breast augmentation operations and if you consider yourself a candidate for such a procedure, all the details related to the appearance, pre and post operative indications, possible risks and precautionary measures will be discussed in detail during an initial consultation.

HOW IS THE OPERATION PERFORMED? TYPES OF INCISION AND IMPLANTS

WHAT TYPE OF INCISION?
You will find the answer to this question together with your plastic surgeon, depending on your personal indications.
  • The "anchor" incision is made around the areola, from where it descends perpendicular to the breast crease where it continues through a horizontal incision. It is intended for people whose breast laxity is very accentuated. This type of incision, which leaves the largest scar, is often used for a facelift combined with a breast reduction.
  • the "lollipop" or "key" incision is made around the areola and descends vertically from the areola to the breast crease; it is suitable for moderate breast ptosis situations, when the periareolar technique does not help and when the patient does not want a breast implant surgery
  •  the "doughnut" lift or periareolar incision is drawn around the perimeter of the areola and is intended for patients with a minimal to medium degree of ptosis. It can also be used in the case of a pronounced sagging of the breast if an implant is accepted.
  • scarless facelift - for people who are more concerned about volume loss than breast sagging
WHAT TYPE OF IMPLANT?
The Cronos Med we use prostheses Polytech-Diagon Gel 4Two, designed and developed by Doctor Constantin Stan, together with the German firm Polytech, and considered worldwide as the best breast implants available today.
Formed from two types of gel, they copy the mammary gland and offer maximum stability to the shape and natural dynamic behaviour of the breast. Silicone gel inside NO flows and has memory, keeping its shape.
Implants Polytech are natural to the touch, mimicking the young breast. The choice of prosthesis is made individually for each patient, based on precise measurements, entered into a computer program developed by Dr. Constantin Stan and approved by Polytech. The prostheses are guaranteed for 10 years in terms of their integrity and the risk of major contractile capsule grade 4.

RECOVERY AFTER SURGERY

As with any surgery, recovery time after mastopexy with breast implant depends on the patient. Although recovery is not difficult, you will experience some discomfort. The use of radiofrequency with monopolar dissecting forceps helps to achieve a 24-hour recovery.
  • you will sleep on your back in an inclined position (25-45 degrees)
  • you will avoid hot showers and baths as well as sauna for three weeks
  • you will avoid strenuous physical activity in the first two weeks after surgery
  • you will avoid sexual activity for a minimum of one to two weeks
  • the wires will be removed gradually over three weeks
  • periodic discomfort is normal and can be controlled with mild analgesics

RESULTS

Your expectations must be realistic. In the first few months after surgery your breasts may appear firmer, higher positioned or larger than you expected. It is temporary.
The final results can only be properly appreciated at 3 months post-augmentation, when the breast settles into a natural position due to gravity, and any trace of oedema disappears.
The results are much longer lasting than in the case of simple mastopexy without breast implant

What is mastopexy?

Mastopexy or breast lift is an operation for women whose breasts have begun to sag or have uneven bust and low volume due to breastfeeding, weight loss or aging tissue. The aim of this operation is to improve the appearance and shape of the breasts. Breast lift can also be combined with breast augmentation, i.e. the insertion of silicone implants to fill and restore volume in the breast area. It can also correct the position of the breasts and various asymmetries in the size or positioning of the areola. It is an aesthetic operation designed to improve the appearance of the bust and give more self-confidence in terms of physical appearance.

How does mastopexy surgery go?

Before the mastopexy surgery you will have a consultation with the cosmetic surgeon to determine the best approach to the operation. There are several types of incision, such as the anchor incision for people whose sagging breasts are very pronounced. If the patient does not want a breast implant, a lollipop incision can be used, which is made around the areola and descends vertically towards the crease of the breast. If the lack of bust volume is the only thing that requires surgery, then a scarless lift is the best solution.

Recovery after mastopexy

fter a mastopexy operation, you should be aware of some precise indications from your cosmetic surgeon in order to benefit from a quick and risk-free recovery. It is recommended to avoid hot showers and saunas during the first three weeks. Also, strenuous physical activities are forbidden during the first 14 days after surgery. The discomfort you may feel afterwards is normal and can be kept under control by taking painkillers at regular intervals. The stitches will be removed gradually during the first 3 weeks, when the recovery phase is passing the critical stage.
